Looking for something fun to do for Spring Break this year? Join us at camp and learn to checkmate like a champion! This is a virtual interactive camp with small groups and great coaches, so students can join no matter where they are located.

All Skill levels, from beginners to strong tournament players are welcome!

Checkmate Like a Champion

Checkmate is the ultimate tactic! How many checkmate patterns do you know? Have you heard of Anastasia’s mate? What about the Swallow’s Tail mate? We will teach you the most important and interesting checkmate patterns – from the basic to the beautiful.

Beginners will learn how to execute famous checkmating patterns, reinforcing their basic tactics and building their pattern recognition. Advanced students will see that these checkmate patterns really do occur in master games, sometimes as hidden threats. After this camp, you will be able to checkmate like a champion!

Typical schedule for a day:

10:40-11:10 Lesson
11:10-11:45 Practice games and possibly student game analysis
11:45-12:00 Break
12:00-12:25 Lesson
12:25-1:00 Practice games
