Collection: Washington D.C. Chess

(More than 5,000 elementary and middle school students have learned chess in our after school clubs and summer camps in DC since our very first club in the city in 2011. We work with public, private, and charter schools from all 8 wards!  Some students have won District championships (including in 2025) but most of our students are new to chess and looking to learn a fun new game. Everyone starts as a curious beginner!

In March of 2026, we're hosting the Charles Carroll Carter Capital Chess Classic with the Friends of Stead Park, a free tournament for DC residents.
