Chess Tournament Preparation for Intermediate and Advanced Students
Chess Tournament Preparation for Intermediate and Advanced Students
We'll be running tournament preparation classes leading up to Grade Nationals! The focus in these classes is to prepare students to play in slower in-person tournaments. We'll be covering practical positional and tactical ideas, and working on calculation. The focus is mostly on positions where students need to consider and evaluate a few different options, and spend more than a minute or two thinking.
Classes are appropriate for students K-9 who are rated under 1400 USCF, including players who've never played in a tournament before. Students will be grouped by skill. If you're rated over 1400 USCF, you should try out one of our GM Elite Academy classes here.
If your child is already in our online academy, we recommend these tournament preparation classes for students in our Rooks, Queens, Kings1, and Kings2 levels.
Coach information will be shared soon.
We're using the software Chessable Classroom. If you haven't used it, it's basically zoom for chess!
- Classes are 1.5 hours long
